My job is to take your worries away.
Stephanie started her legal career at
Kirkland & Ellis, one of the largest law firms in the world. She handled corporate bankruptcy work and everything that came with it—high pressure, long hours, and the kind of cases that required attorneys to practically live in the office. The experience shaped her work ethic and attention to detail, but it also helped her understand what she didn’t want: a career that left no room for family or balance.
When the time came to choose a different path, Stephanie made a deliberate shift toward transactional law. She joined her father, Earl Simon, who at the time was running a busy real estate and general practice and Manny Lapidos, who was running a well respected real estate practice and whose name is still recognized by brokers and clients throughout the northern suburbs.
Stephanie eventually acquired Manny’s practice and now leads the firm as its sole attorney, continuing a name that still carries weight for long-time clients.
Stephanie earned her Bachelors of Science degree at University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in accountancy with honors and successfully passed all 4 sections of the CPA exam. She then went on to get her Juris Doctorate at University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School cum laude.
Stephanie lives in Northbrook, Illinois with her husband, Neil, and their two sons, Gabriel and Michael. Their household also includes Shoogy, a very loved Golden Doodle. When she’s not working with clients, you can usually find her on a bike—she logs up to 100 miles a week, a routine that keeps her energized and clears her mind.

Where She Practices
Stephanie represents clients throughout Chicago area and the northern suburbs, generally within a 45-minute radius. If you are outside that area, she will let you know right away whether it makes sense for her to take the matter, or she’ll help you find an attorney closer to home.
